Richard Brewer, 87, of 120 Heidi Lane, husband of the late Louise King Brewer, died Saturday, October 6, 2007, at Hospice of the Upstate.
Born in Oconee County, a son of the late Curtis Onward and Lydie Nalley Brewer, and his late step-mother, Macy Brewer, Mr. Brewer retired from the South Carolina Highway Department after eighteen years of service and was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the US Army in North Africa, Sicily, France and Belgium.
Surviving are three sons, Larry Brewer and his wife, Mildred, of Easley, Raymond Brewer of the home and James L. King and his wife, Mary Jo, of Leavenworth, KS; two daughters, Margaret McJunkin and her husband, Mike, and Janice Dickey, and her husband, George, all of Easley; three sisters, Helen B. Smith of Marietta, GA, and Nell Sanchez and Sue Campbell, both of Houston, TX; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Brewer was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Brewer who died during World War II.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Doug Goss and Mr. Jerry Dyar officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family is at the home of Larry and Mildred Brewer, 219 Robbie Court, Easley, SC 29642.
