Richard "Dick" Marvin Burns, 64, of 215 Timbrooke Way, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2012 at McCall Hospice House.
Mr. Burns was born in Greenville, SC, the son of Marvin Arthur Burns, of Greenville, SC and the late Sarah King Burns. He was a driver for Piedmont Electrical Distributers, a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War where he served in the Seabee's and was a Methodist.
Surviving in addition to his father are his companion, Anne Patterson, of the home; a daughter, Christy Burns, of Gulf Port, Mississippi; a brother, Douglas Eugene Burns, of Greenville, SC; a step-son, Eric Patterson and his wife, Joanne, of Mauldin, SC; 6 grandchildren, Brianna Burns, Braden Burns, Andrew Patterson, Hunter Patterson, Bailey Patterson and Dana Rodgers; one great-grandchild, Brianne Rodgers; his step-mother, Frances Burns, of Greenville, SC and 2 step-brothers, Johnny Drake and Jeff Drake, both of Greenville, SC.
A memorial service will be 2:00 PM Saturday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road. Entombent will be at Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM Saturday, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
The family is at the home.
