Richard Virgil Edwards, 81, of 201 Frank Street, passed away Tuesday January 1, 2013 at Baptist Easley Hospital.
Mr. Edwards was born in Tylertown, Mississippi, one of 10 children born to the late John Dwight and Miranda Pettis Edwards. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years of service and later retired from Sullivan Hardware. He was a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Richard Eugene Edwards and his wife Leslie, of Easley, SC and Christopher Scott Edwards and his wife, Melissa, of Williston, SC; a daughter, Shannon Edwards Galloway and her husband, Keith, of Easley, SC; a sister, Mary Triche, of LaPlace, LA. and 7 grandchildren, Cameron Edwards, Connor Edwards, Chandler Galloway, Sidney Galloway, Campbell Galloway, Griffin Zimmerman and Caroline Edwards.
Cryptside services and entombment with military honors will be 1:00 PM Friday in the Robinson Memorial Gardens Chapel of Reflection Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 11:30 AM until 12:45 PM Friday, prior to the service, at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road.
Family members are at their respective homes.
