Richard Mauldin, Sr.

Richard Thompson Mauldin, Sr., 63, of 517 Belle Shoals Road, died Thursday, January 29, 2009, at his home.
Born in Daytona Beach, Fl, a son of Lola Hayes Mauldin of Pickens, and the late Elvin Mauldin, Mr. Mauldin retired from Bi-Lo and was a member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served with the US Army.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, LaVerne Bates Mauldin of the home; a son, Robert A. Mauldin and wife, Missy, of Pickens; a daughter, Missy Mauldin of Pickens: a brother, Ronnie Mauldin and wife, Melody, of Pickens; and eight grandchildren. In addition to his father, Mr. Mauldin was predeceased by a son, Richard Thompson Mauldin, II, and by a sister, Cheryl Mauldin.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Crescent Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Payne and Rev. Tommy Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The body is at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown-Easley, and will be placed in the church at 12:30 p.m. Saturday where the family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m, prior to the service.
