Richard Bruce Smith, 78, of Easley, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, September 3, 2021, at his home.

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Floyd and Dalphne Hiles Smith.

Mr. Smith was retired from Southeastern Machinery and was formerly employed with several textile mills in the area. He loved his family dearly especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, working in his yard, woodworking and playing guitar. In his younger days, he was a member of The Originals Band during the 1960's. He was an active member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church where he served in many capacities and the Foster Hudson Sunday School Class.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Vickie Garren Smith; sons, Ricky Smith (Patsy) of Easley and Scott Smith of Evans, GA; grandchildren, Austin Smith (Tamara) and Aimee Winchester (Daniel); great grandchildren, Boone and Addie Winchester; and a brother, Bob Smith of Easley.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Larry, Jim and Jackie Smith.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 1:30 PM until 2:45 PM at Calvary Hill Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 PM in the church sanctuary. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The service will be streamed at Calvary Hill Live Stream
