Richard L. Teal "Ric", beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2019 after a brief illness.
Mr. Teal, husband of Linda Long Teal, was a devoted family man and a blessing to many. He was unwavering in his faith and spent much time in prayer for his daughters and their husbands, Julie and Dee Cheek and Patti and Richie Parnell. He loved reading and studying the Bible, teaching the Word, and pursuing Christ. He delighted in his grandchildren, DJ Cheek, Spenser Parnell (Kirby), Hayley Cheek, Logan Parnell, and Conor Parnell; and he had a great-grandchild on the way. Mr. Teal never met a stranger and was a gifted storyteller.
Mr. Teal was a graduate of North Greenville College and Carson Newman College. He worked at Connie Maxwell Children's Home before moving to Greenville and beginning a career in insurance. He was employed with GAB, USF&G, and Davis Claims Service. He was currently employed as a bailiff at the Pickens County Courthouse.
Mr. Teal was predeceased by a grandson, Richard Coleman Cheek.
A celebration of Mr. Teal's life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, December 23, 2019 at the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Monday before the service.
