Richard Glenn Thompson, 74, husband of the late Della Albertson Thompson, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021.
Born in Bladenboro, NC, a son of the late Wilton Oberry Thompson and the late Grace Truman Thompson, he was a loving father, grandfather, and brother who enjoyed sports, beach music, shagging, and spending time with his family. He retired as a truck driver from Southeastern Freight Lines after twenty-nine years of service and was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church in Easley.
Surviving are sons, Richard Thompson (Sherrie) of Piedmont, Derrick Thompson (Jessica) and David Thompson (Leslie), both of Easley; sisters, Sue McKeithan of Bladenboro, NC and Debbie Imhoff (Joe) of Harvest, AL; and grandchildren, Matthew Thompson, Nicholas Thompson, Lizzie Ru Thompson, Lane Thompson, and Ella Grace Thompson.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a brother, William Ronald Thompson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 27, 2021 at Rock Springs Baptist Church. A private entombment will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens Chapel of Reflection Mausoleum.
Mr. Thompson will be available for viewing from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church, prior to the service.
The family requests that all guests wear masks and practice social distancing.
