Mr. Richard Dale Ward, 50, of 1116 Old Mill Road, Easley, loving husband of Michelle Holland Ward, passed away Friday, January 9, 2015 at Greenville Memorial Medical Center.
Richard was born in Greenville, SC, on April 29, 1964 to Ollis Ward and the late Leora Tolley Ward. Richard was a graduate of Traveler's Rest High school and was a machine operator with Steel-Heddle Manufacturing in Greenville. He loved fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. Richard was a member for 23 years of Siloam Baptist Church, where he was very active and sang in the choir.
In addition to his wife and father, Richard is survived by two children; Heath Ward of the home, and Hannah Ward of Seneca, SC; one brother; Steve Ward and his wife Sandy, of Marietta, SC; one sister, Lynnese Chandler and her husband Brian of Piedmont; and his birth mother, Beverly Payne of Greenville. Richard is also survived by his mother - in - law, Sylvia Williams of Easley; his father - in - law, Eulan Holland and his wife Ella Ruth of Dothan, Alabama; one niece, Bryanna Chandler, and one nephew Richard Chandler, both of Piedmont; along with numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Siloam Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Dickard officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church on Sunday from 1:00 PM until 2:45 PM.
The family is at the residence.
Flowers are optional.
The family has requested that all kind words, expressions of sympathy, or donations to help assist them be sent to the home.
