Mr. Richard "Rich" George Wentzel, 67, husband of the late Cherilyn Bridges Wentzel, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, May 7, 2021.
Born in Reading, PA, the son of the late Harold L. Wentzel and the late Doris Burkhart Wentzel, Mr. Wentzel was a graduate of Reading High School and retired from Baptist Easley Hospital with twenty-one years of service. He was a member of Easley Presbyterian Church, attended Grace United Methodist Church, Pickens and was a member of the Reading Railroad Heritage Museum.
Rich had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He had many hobbies such as collecting model trains, watching car shows on TV, barbecuing, and dearly loved cruising having been on twenty-one cruise ships. He will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Surviving are his son, Marty Wentzel of Columbia; his long-time girlfriend, Deanne Richter of Easley; and his granddaughter, Madeline "Maddie" Wentzel of Columbia.
The family will host a memorial service at a later date to be announced.
