Robert Manning Acker, 59, of 215 Appaloosa Drive, died Friday, June 20, 2008.
Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Harold Acker and the late Thelma Owens Marden, Mr. Acker retired as a self-employed truck driver and was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Vietnam War and was a disabled veteran.
Surviving are three sons, Robert "J.R." Manley and David Manley, both of Greenville, and Robert Sanford of Clanton, AL; four daughters, Lynn Hanna of Greenville, Kerry Acker of Orange Park, FL, Shirley Stacy of Flowery Branch, GA, and Shannon Acker of Dunbar, WV; a brother, Bill Acker and wife, Willie, of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Mary Andrews and husband, Ken,of Taylors ,and Pamela Martin of Greenville; one step-son, Jody King of Jesup, GA; and several grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Easley.
Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Monday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, Easley, prior to the service.
Family members are at their respective homes.
