Robert Fred Bock, 86, husband of Ruth Pfeiffer Bock, died Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the Anderson Area Medical Center. A native of New Britain, CT, he was the son of the late Friederich H. and Anna Marie Schmidt Bock. He moved to Clemson in 1960 to help open the Jacobs Manufacturing Co. plant and retired in 1986 as Manager of Manufacturing Engineering at Jacobs. He was a veteran of the Army Air Force serving during WWII as a radio operator on B17 and B29 aircraft. He loved woodworking and was a master at fixing most everything. He was a member of University Lutheran Church in Clemson.

In addition to his wife he is survived by sons: Robert F. Bock, Sr. (Belinda) of Marietta, GA, Lawrence M. Bock (Nancy) of Seneca and Dr. William C. Bock (Tamea) of Charlotte, NC; 5 grandchildren, Brian, Ian, Stefan, Sara and Natalie and 1 great-grandchild, Madden. He was predeceased by a grandson, William.

A memorial service will be held Sunday at 3pm at the University Lutheran Church in Clemson. There will be a reception following the service in the church fellowship hall. A private committal service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the University Lutheran Church, 111 Sloan St. Clemson, SC 29631
