Robert ‘Bob’ Cooley, 75, of Waycross, GA, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025.
Born on January 20, 1950, in Lake County, Florida, to Robert and Willie Mae Murray Cooley. Bob graduated from Richmond Academy High School. Attended Central Wesleyan College until 1973, and dedicated over 50 years to the Wesleyan church, serving in music and youth ministries.
He will be remembered for his passion for music, his love for directing different choirs over the years, and his love for the youth ministry was unmatched. He was always making plans for events and always driving them there too! He loved making people laugh, always had a dad joke ready to go… for example; “May all your children be born naked!” -Bob Cooley. He made you feel comfortable when he would converse with everyone. He never met a stranger, and if you ever met or knew him, you knew you were in the presence of a best friend!
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Norma; his two sons, Nathan and Jonathan; his daughter in law, Angela; and two beloved grandchildren, Maddie and Brett.
A celebration service will be held on the 6th of September 2025 at 11:00 am at United Wesleyan Church in Easley, South Carolina. Reception will immediately follow in the Lifeline Building (fellowship hall) next door to the church.
During his entire battle with cancer, he would say this to everyone… “God’s got this!” -Bob Cooley
“Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.”
“Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.”
