Earl Ellis

Robert Earl Ellis, 91, beloved husband of Barbara Ellis, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, August 15, 2024, at his home.
Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Reverend J.H. Ellis and Elizabeth Gambrell Ellis.
Mr. Ellis retired from Michelin Tire Corporation in Sandy Springs. He owned and operated Western Auto in Easley for several years and was a charter member of Pendleton Street Baptist Church. At Pendleton Street Baptist Church, he was deacon emeritus, lay speaker, and soloist. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed reading his Bible and watching Clemson Football.
Surviving is high school sweetheart and wife of 72 wonderful years, Barbara Galbreath Ellis; special nieces and nephews, Mike (Debbie), Brian, and Bruce Galbreath, and Suzanne Galbreath Smith (Wally); his step-sister, Donna Bennett (Ralph); his step-brother, Tommy Henderson (Carol); his nieces and nephews, Jimmy, Linda, Mike, Nancy, Barry, and Carol Ellis, and his adopted son, Brandon Brooks.
Mr. Ellis was the last member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a niece and "daughter", Debbie Galbreath Fowler; a brother, James Randolph “Randy” Ellis; his step-mother, Louise Henderson Ellis; his step-sister, Barbara Temples; his father-in-law, Bruce Galbreath; his mother-in-law, Grace Galbreath; his sisters-in-law, Janet Galbreath, Shelby Galbreath Hawkins (Butch); his brothers-in-law, Haskell Galbreath, Chris Galbreath (Lib), and Jack Galbreath; and his nephew, Haiden Parker.
The family will receive friends Sunday, August 18, 2024 from 2:00 PM until 2:50 PM at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Arial United Methodist Church Cemetery.
