Robert Joseph "Bobby Joe" Gravely

Robert Joseph "Bobby Joe" Gravely, 82, husband of Carol Gilstrap Gravely, of Sunset, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Sunset, he was a son of the late Charles H. and Loma Holcombe Gravely.

Bobby Joe retired from the South Carolina Forestry Commission after 34 years of service and loved to spend time hunting, fishing, and gardening. 

He was a devout Christian family man and his favorite place was church. He was a member of East Side Baptist Church in Liberty.

In addition to his loving wife of 62 years, Mr. Gravely is survived by a son, Brian Gravely (Kyndal) of Sunset; a daughter, Vonda K. Gravely of Taylors; 2 grandchildren, Aaron Joseph Gravely (Haley) and Braden Lee Gravely; and a great-grandson on the way, Noah.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2025 at East Side Baptist Church in Liberty. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
