Robert Allen Hanson, Jr (July 3, 1955 – November 13, 2019) was born to Reverend Robert and Barbara Hanson, the oldest of five siblings. He married Linda Augustson in June 1977, and together they have five children: Alicia, Tiffany, Tina (Keith Pruitt), Richelle (Jojy Thomas), and Robert Allen Hanson, III. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Nathanael, Naomi, Olivia, and Robert Allen Hanson, IV.
As a young man, Bob was called to faith in Christ, and then to the ministry. He faithfully served alongside his father before moving to Vermont, where he was a pastor for many years. He also spent a handful of years pastoring and serving the Lord's people in Michigan.
Bob desired to be a follower of Christ in all he did, and he spent much of his time in the last years of his life as he had prior to his illness: studying the Bible and preparing to be with His Lord and Savior. He often encouraged his wife, his children, and any he came into regular contact with to follow Christ and find their hope and strength in Him alone.
Bob is preceded in death by his mother. He is survived by his father, his sister Melody, his brothers Bryan, Glen, and Craig, and his wife, children, and grandchildren.
The family will host a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Grace Baptist Fellowship, 37 Pinckney Street, Greenville, SC 29601.
