Robert (Bob) Drake Hazen, 91, of Easley, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022.
He was the husband of the late Beverly Richardson Hazen and the son of the late Robert Ingersoll and Dorothy Hart Hazen.
Bob was a 1954 graduate of Georgia Tech, where he served in the ROTC and was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He served 2 years active duty in the US Army and 22 years in the Army reserves, retiring with the rank of Lt. Colonel. He worked as a civil engineer and project manager, retiring from Fluor Daniel in 1991. Bob was an elder and charter member of St. Giles Presbyterian Church in Greenville, SC and most recently a member of Easley Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed playing golf and watching the Atlanta Braves.
He is survived by his daughters, Katherine Lyles (Phil) and Barbara Curl (Jim Martin); his daughter-in-law, Kathy Hazen; grandchildren, Drake Hazen, Fraser Hazen, Walker Hazen, and Shannon Curl; a sister, Nina LeBreton and a brother, William Hazen.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his son Richard Drake Hazen.
A memorial will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11:00 am in the chapel of The Foothills Presbyterian Community, 205 Bud Nalley Drive, Easley, SC with Rev. Dr. Bill Seel and Rev. Joseph Gaston officiating. The family will receive visitors before and after the service. Masks are required for anybody who is not a resident of the Presbyterian Community.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 7th at 1:00 pm at Southlawn Cemetery, 4524 Whiskey Rd, Aiken, SC 29803, with military honors.
