Houston Moore

Robert Houston Moore, 87, of 116 Avalon Circle entered into the presence of the Lord on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at his residence.
Born in the Brandon Community of Greenville County, he was a son of the late Walter J. and Edna Lee Moore. Mr. Moore was a graduate of Parker High School and entered the Merchant Marines and served during WWII. After the war, he was the owner and operator of the Southerner Restaurant for over 57 years. He was a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church and was faithful to the Men's #5 Sunday School Class.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia Wyrick Moore of the home; one son, Todd Moore and wife, Cindy of Easley; one daughter, Jan Aiken and husband, John of Easley; five grandchildren, Candace Alms and husband, Adam of Wake Forest, NC, Brett Aiken and wife, Erica of Pendleton, Cameron Aiken, T. J. Moore and Carson Moore all of Easley.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Bobby Lynn Moore.
Funeral Services will be 3 PM, Saturday at Brushy Creek Baptist Church with Reverends Brett Aiken and Rodney Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:45 PM Saturday at the church prior to the service.
The body is at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown and will be placed in the church at 1 PM Saturday.
The family is at the home.
The family would like to express their special gratitude to Evelyn Lee who provided special care during Houston's final months.
