Robert Porter (Bob) Nisbet, 82, of Powdersville, South Carolina passes away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.
He was born on December 12, 1943, in Springfield, Vermont, and the son of the late George and Ruth (Stewart) Nisbet.
He graduated from Springfield (Vermont) High School with the Class of 1961. After high school, Bob joined the United States Navy, where he spent three years as a Missile Technician aboard the USS Long Beach, the first nuclear powered surface warship.
Bob worked for the National Cash Register Corp. (NCR) for 27 years, as a Technical Service Representative in Burlington, Vermont, and later as a Maintainability Engineer, in Ithaca, New York, and Clemson, South Carolina. He later owned and operated Village Locksmith, Inc in the Greenville, SC area.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
Bob is survived by his wife, Joan (Kelly) of 60 years; his daughters, Charlene Nisbet, Lisa Nisbet, and Sue-Ellen Nisbet Williams; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a sister and a brother.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
