Robert Paul Perkins, 49, husband of Tammy Chamberlain Perkins, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2012, at Baptist Easley Hospital.
Robert was born in Tripoli, Libya, to U.S. Coast Guard veteran Harmon Travis Perkins, of Arizona, and the late Connie Jean Sapp Perkins. He attended college in Nevada where he was part of the debate team. Mr. Perkins was a published writer, and enjoyed teaching. He was a past Commander of the Sons of Confederate Veterans (Arizona Division) and past Camp Commander of the Colonel Sherod Hunter Camp 1525, Phoenix, AZ. Robert was employed by Alorica, in Greenville, and also ran his own business, Butternuts and Blue Coats. He was of the Christian faith, and attended Rock Spring Baptist Church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife and father, are a brother, Michael Anthony Perkins, of Phoenix; a sister, Robin Patricia, of Phoenix; two nephews; and one niece.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, September 10, 2012, in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow at Robinson Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, September 9, 2012, at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
