Mr. Robert Forrest Turner, Sr. of Easley, husband of Diane Knight Turner for twenty-six years, stepped through the gates of Heaven to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, June 11, 2012 after a thirteen month battle with a brain tumor.

Bob was a graduate of Whiteville High School in Whiteville, NC, where he was valedictorian of his graduating class. He received the Morehead Scholarship from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he received a BS degree in mathematics and psychology. Bob worked for Fresenius Medical Care (formerly known as National Medical Care) as VP of Market Development for thirty years. He attended New Spring Church in Anderson, SC.

Born in Whiteville, NC, he was the son of Fredrica Turner Stell and his stepfather, Sam Stell of Whiteville, NC. In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by his four children, Emily, Robert Forrest, Jr., Annie and Clay Turner of the home; brothers, Billy Turner (Elizabeth) of Whiteville, NC, Richard Turner (Susanna) of Pinehurst, NC, Craig Turner (Christine) of Wrightsville Beach, NC, and Andy Turner of Lake Waccamaw, NC; sisters, Jean Turner of Bishop, CA, and Michele Murphy (Dan) of Stockbridge, GA; and many nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to Dr. Jeffrey Edenfield and the staff at Cancer Centers of the Carolinas in Greenville, SC, and Rainey Hospice House of the Upstate in Anderson, SC, for their kindness and loving care shown to Bob and his family for the past thirteen months.

A memorial service is planned for a later date in Whiteville, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Concerned Citizens for Animals, PO Box 1332, Simpsonville, SC 29681 or to the Greenville Humane Society, 305 Airport Rd, Greenville, SC 29607.
