Robert Lawlor Weisel, 74, of Pendleton, died Friday, May 23, 2008 at An-Med Health in Anderson.
Born in East Orange, NJ, he was the son of the late Joseph Christian and Florence Irene Lapp Weisel. He was a Major-Navigator for the US Air Force having served 20 years. Mr. Weisel later worked as a realtor and a small business owner.
Surviving are his wife, Ann Bailey Weisel of the home; three sons, Larry Weisel and wife Barbara of San Antonio, TX, Paul Weisel and wife Naomi of Liberty, SC, William Coffrin of Charlotte, NC; three daughters, Cheryl Nalley and husband Woodrow of Townville, SC, Loraine Twiddy and husband Tom of Charlotte, NC, Michele Standridge and husband John of Seattle WA; two step-sons, Lt. Col. Tim Bailey and wife Christian of Albuquerque, NM, William Thomas Bailey and wife Carrie of Greenville; a sister, Carol McCarthy and husband Robert of Maine; twenty-two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife of 26 years, Edna Coffrin Weisel.
A memorial service will be Monday, May 26 at 2pm in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home. Inurnment with full military honors will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Doctors Without Borders; PO Box 5030; Hagerstown, MD 21741-5030 or to OMH Hospice of the Foothills; 390 Keowee School Road; Seneca, SC 29672 or to the charity of one's choice.
