Robert George Wetherell, Sr., 63, of 103 Windtree Lane, died Friday, January 16, 2009, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in West Falls, NY, a son of the late David and Mary Geduldig Wetherell, Sr., Mr. Wetherell retired as a case worker with the Department of Social Services in Erie County, NY, and was a member of Piedmont Presbyterian Church. He was also a volunteer with Meals-On-Wheels of Anderson.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon Preston Walbridge Wetherell of the home; a son, Robert George Wetherell, Jr., and wife, Shelly, of Simpsonville; a daughter, Laura Preston Wetherell Iekel and husband, Donald, of Derby, NY; and a granddaughter, Teri Iekel. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wetherell was predeceased by a brother, David Wetherell, Jr., and a sister Dorothy Utz.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Piedmont Presbyterian Church with Rev. Charlie Blakely officiating. Inurnment of the cremains will be at a later date in Griffins Mills Cemetery in West Falls, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association , P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
The family is at the residence.
