Rodney Steve Black, 62, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2026, at his home.
Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Milford Henry Black and Nora Smith Black Ward.
Steve was an Auto Body Specialist. He loved his country dearly, invoking his Second Amendment rights to bear arms and proudly serving his country in the United States Army National Guard. He was part of the Tomahawk Missile Battalion, and his knowledge regarding weapons and guns was impeccable.
Surviving are his daughters, Storm Black Hicks (Masai) and Jade Black Underwood (Kyle); grandchildren, Masai Hicks and Rhyatt Underwood; his siblings, Pam Dodd (Ray), Lynn Venable, and Michael Lee Black (Sandy); his boxers, Baine and Axel; the mother of his children, Catherine Black; special niece and nephews, Mark Venable (Heather), Natasha Page (Chris), and Jeff Venable (Eva); and several great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate Steve’s life will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, 305 West Main Street, Easley, SC 29640.
