Roger Dale Hamilton, 76, beloved husband of Letha Mae Dodgins Hamilton, passed away July 2, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born and raised in Pickens County, Roger was the son of the late Blease and Florine Hamilton.
Roger dedicated many years to working in construction and the textile industry before retiring.
He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, strong work ethic, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. As a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, he touched countless lives with his warmth and caring spirit. He enjoyed spending time at the beach, visiting the mountains, and chasing waterfalls. Above all, Roger treasured time with his family and grandchildren. He also enjoyed gathering with friends for early morning coffee at Hardee’s, where many conversations were shared. He was a devoted member of Amazing Grace Fellowship in Pickens.
In addition to his wife of 44 years, Roger leaves behind a family that he loved deeply. He is survived by his son, Chad Jones (Lindsey), and his five daughters; Crystal Lancaster, Crystal Whitlock (Jason), Teresa Eades (Paul), Sharon Willis, and Gina Willis. He was a proud and loving grandfather who cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren and created memories that will be treasured for years to come.
He is also survived by his brothers, Donnnie, David, Ricky Hamilton, and Scottie Hamilton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters; Reba Hunter, Betty Hickey, Francis Hartswell, and Sheryl Hamilton; and his brothers Buddy Hamilton, Blease Jr. Hamilton, Mark Hamilton, and Tommy Hamilton.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ronnie Hill, Mike Hughes, Troy Porter, Furman Youngblood, Mike Hamilton, and Bobby Duncan.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on July 6, 2026, from 12:00PM until 12:45PM at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, 108 Cross Creek Road, Central, SC 29630.
A funeral service will follow at 1:00PM in the Chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home.
Following the service, the family will be at the home of Crystal Whitlock 818 Edens Road, Pickens, SC, 29671.
