Roger Michael Hunter, 63, of Pendleton, SC, passed away on September 16, 2025. Roger was born in Charlottesville, VA to his parents, Orren Franklin Hunter Sr. and Betty Jean Zorn Hunter.
Roger graduated from Easley High School, and later earned an associate’s degree from Aiken Technical College. This laid the foundation for his professional journey, where he had a long career as a sheet metal mechanic.
Beyond his career, Roger had a passion for sports, proudly supporting Clemson Athletics, particularly their football team. He loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing, which brought him joy and relaxation. Music also played a significant role in his life, as he enjoyed listening to his favorite tunes. Roger also had a passion for watching Nascar racing, where he proudly supported his favorite drivers.
Roger will be remembered for his warm spirit and the love he had for his interests and his work. His presence will be missed by all who knew him.
Roger is survived by his mother Betty Jean Zorn Hunter; daughter, Shawna Hunter; and brother, Frankie Hunter.
Roger is preceded in death by his father, Orren Franklin Hunter Sr.
A graveside service will take place on Friday, September 26th, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Hunters Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, of Bamberg, SC.
Please wear casual clothing or your favorite Clemson gear to the graveside service.
A register book for friends in his local community to sign will be available at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home prior to the graveside service.
