Roger Young

December 12, 1935 — December 8, 2020

Former Easley resident Roger Young, 85, died December 8, 2020 at St Francis Hospital due to Covid 19 battles.

Roger Young was born on December 12, 1935 in Bronx, New York to James and Mary Young. He was a devoted father, loving husband and friend to all. He was drafted and served in the Army Reserve. He had a passion for bowling and was always willing to teach others the principals of the sport.

He had no formal education other than high school and 1 year of community college. He worked as a mechanical engineer and just loved being a craftsman. There was nothing he could not build from his arsenal of tools and any scrap wood he could get his hands on.

Wherever he went, no matter the crowd, he always left a lasting impression of kindness.

Roger is survived by his wife, Alice Ruth Chin Bow Young; his children, Keith Edward and Kathy Allison Young; his grandchildren, Sabrina Natasha Dempsey, Mary Sandra and James Christian Young.
