Romella Sears Rutledge, wife of the late Harold E. Rutledge, died Monday, August 17, 2009, at Hospice of the Upstate.
Born in Pendleton, a daughter of the late Arthur and Nettie James Sears, Mrs. Rutledge retired from Clemson University after twenty years of service.
Surviving are a niece, Doreen S. Reeves and husband, Danny, of Easley; nephew, Lynn E. Sears of Easley; and her great-nephew, Danny Reeves, II, and wife, Stacy of Easley. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Rutledge was predeceased by an infant daughter, Carolyn Rutledge, a brother, Leon E. Sears and a sister, Knoett S. Roper.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Memory Gardens in Clemson.
The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
