Rodney "Ron" Wayne Phillips, 64, of 136 Fledgling Way, died Thursday November 12, 2009 at Hospice of Catawba Valley in Hickory, NC.
Mr. Phillips was born in Anderson, SC, a son of Ara Odus Phillips, of Central, SC and the late Hazel Janice Elrod Phillips. He was a graduate of Daniel High School and Southern Wesleyan University and retired as an accountant with Hospitality Management in Orlando, Florida. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam Era and attended First Baptist Church in Norris, SC.
Surviving in addition to his father is his brother, the Reverend Dr. Larry R. Phillips and his wife, Kathy, of Taylorsville, NC.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Claude Elrod and Mr. and Mrs. T.A. Phillips, all of Central, SC.
Funeral Services will be 3:00 pm Sunday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road with the Reverend Charles Phillips and the Reverend Dr. Larry Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Clemson, SC.
Visitation will be from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm Sunday, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
