Ronald Allen "Ronnie" Hughes, 56, of 408 West Quincy Road and husband of Wanda Whitman Hughes, died Saturday, March 9, 2013 at his home.
Born in Anderson, he was a son of Robert Lee Hughes, Jr. of Seneca and the late Dorothy Allen Hughes. Ronnie was a graduate of Anderson Junior College where he played baseball. He was the V.P. and Sales Executive with Hughes Equipment Sales in Seneca and most recently served a Sales Representative for Green South Equipment, Williamston, SC. He attended Seneca Baptist Church. He loved to play golf and baseball, was a Clemson sports enthusiast and loved being the grandfather of Gavin.
Surviving in addition to his wife; are sons, Ryan Allen Hughes (Holly) and James Robert Hughes all of Seneca; brothers, Jerald Gregg Hughes of Seneca and Dale Lee Hughes of West Union; and grandson, James Gavin Hughes.
Memorials services will be 2 PM, Wednesday at Seneca Baptist Church with Rev. Von Reynolds officiating.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be his nephews, Evan Link, Weston Link, Michael Link, Phillip Hughes, Justin Hughes, Parker Beck and his predeceased nephew, Barrett Beck.
The family is at the home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Barrett's Place Playground, in care of Friends of the Park, P.O. Box 408, Pendleton, SC, 29670.
