Ronald H. Melton, 84, went to his eternal home on September 16, 2016.  Born February 29, 1932, in Charlottesville, Virginia, he was the son of Robert Washington Melton and Brommie Chewning Melton.     Ronald graduated from Lackey High School in Indian Head, Maryland, and from Columbia Tech in Washington, D.C., where he studied Art.  He also studied Geography for three years at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.  He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict, stationed at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, and Yakota Air Force Base, Japan.  He worked for almost forty years as a cartographer at the Central Intelligence Agency, Langley Virginia.  Upon his retirement from the Agency, he was given the Career Achievement Award for his service to his country.      His talents were many.  He was not only an accomplished artist, but also enjoyed woodworking, painting, sculpting and genealogy.


Ronald is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ruth Jordan Melton, as well as by his brother-in-law, Lewis E. Jordan (Kay), and his sister-in-law, Miriam Jordan.  He is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews, Edward Jordan (Barbara), Bryan Jordan (Joye), Grady Jordan (Kim), Shirley Westbury (Joey), Lisa Jordan, Jordie Jordan (Susan), and Jennifer Lawrence.   The family would like to say a special thanks to Interim Hospice for all of their love, care, and support. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 18, 2016, at 2:30 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home (Powdersville Road), Easley, South Carolina.  The funeral service will follow at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel at the Funeral Home.   After the service the burial will take place at Memory Gardens, Issaqueena Trail, Clemson, South Carolina.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Interim Hospice, 16 Hyland Drive, Greenville, SC 29615, or the American Heart Association. Condolences may be expressed online at www.robinsonfuneralhomes.com or in person at Robinson Funeral Home – Powdersville Road, which is assisting the family.
