Easley
Our beloved mother of eighty-nine years passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2011 at the home of her daughter, Sandra Corley Bandy.
She was born in Richland County in 1921 and was the daughter of the late Jessie Lee and Willie Agnes Frick Eargle. Mrs. Corley was a graduate of Newberry High School and it was in Newberry where she met our father, the late Edwin Buddy Corley. They were married in September of 1939. Her time was spent caring for her husband and her children. When she wasn't taking care of the family and home she would be with friends playing bridge or spending hours in her lovely day-lily garden. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a member of the Wesley Sunday School Class. In the last years of her life she resided at Magnolia's of Easley.
She is survivied by her three children, Sandra Corley Bandy (Joe) of Easley, Edwin Lee Corley (Annie Laura) of Lexington, and Dr. David Richard Corley (Fran) of Medford Lakes, NJ; sister-in-law, Margaret Eargle of Lexington County; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Corley was predeceased by two brothers, Carlton Oneal Eargle and Marion Richard Eargle, by an adopted sister, Annie Ruth May Duckett, and by two grandsons, Timothy Scott Bandy and Michael Christopher Bandy.
The body is at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown and the family is at the home of Sandra and Joe Bandy.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 24, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall of First United Methodist Church following a private committal service at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
