Roscoe Perry Gantt, 84, of 541 Breazeale Road, died Thursday, July 5, 2007 at Palmetto Health Baptist Easley.
Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Charlie McGideon and Maude Powell Gantt. He was a veteran of the US Army Air Force having served during WWII, and was retired from Southern Weaving after 19 years. He loved farming, playing his banjo, planting flowers, whittling and building things. He was a member of Rices Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred Ophelia Holcombe Gantt of the home; a son, Jefferson Roscoe; a daughter, Shirley Ann; two sisters, Eunice and Ruby; two grandchildren, Rachel and Tracey; and three great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Shayle, and Evan. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Gene, Beno, and Dwight; and a sister, Louise.
Funeral services will be 3:30 PM Sunday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown with Reverend John Wayne Revis officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Saturday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
