Rosemary Mullis Cook, 72, wife of Dr. David Albert Cook, died peacefully on September 11, 2022. In addition to her devoted husband, she is survived by her loving family, son David Albert Cook, Jr. (Mandy) of Easley, daughter, Katie Cook Porter (Keith) of Cramerton, NC, five grandchildren, Madison Caroline Cook, Ella Grace Cook, Alexander Hayden Cook, Keith Allen Porter, III and Caroline Grace Porter, her brothers, Dale Haywood Mullis, Sr. (Alice) of Cochran, GA, C. Eldon Mullis (Doris) of Fredericksburg, VA, and Robert Willett Mullis (Karen) of Loganville, GA, and a sister, Janet Mullis McPhilimy of Suwanee, GA. She was predeceased in death by their daughter, Carolina Elizabeth Cook and her parents Ella Slade and Charlie Milton Mullis.

Rosemary was born in Hawkinsville, GA. and grew up in Cochran, GA. She attended Bleckley County High School in Georgia, Middle Georgia College, and Georgia State College for Women where she received a degree in English. She and David married on August 20, 1972 (they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary). She put David through Medical School while teaching at Lucy Laney High School in Augusta, GA. She and David moved their family to Easley in 1980 after his residency in Greenville.

They quickly found a place in the community; they joined Easley Presbyterian Church and became active members. She also served as President of the S.C. Medical Auxiliary was a Pickens County YMCA board member and joined a tennis team and bridge club. Her love of reading was demonstrated through her membership in The Book Club. She enjoyed reading fiction and non-fiction and gave excellent programs. She had been head majorette in her high school band and had fun teaching her friends’ little girls a majorette class.

Rosemary was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She and

David (RoRo and DeDa) loved nothing more than spending time with their family. She was fun to be around with her wonderful sense of humor, quick wit and sometimes feisty nature!
