Roy Lee Garrison, 81, of 218 Pine Knoll Drive, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010, at Baptist Easley Hospital.

Born in Homer, Georgia, Mr. Garrison was a son of the late William Thomas Watson and Mattie Murray Garrison. He graduated from Welcome High School. Mr. Garrison was a drywall contractor for 46 years having worked for Daniel Contruction overseas as well as Garrison Drywall and Garrison and Richey. He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church where he belonged to the Men in Action and the Prayer Warriors Sunday School Class. Mr. Garrison was a member of the Welcome Dinner Club and had a passion for gardening. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-four years, Ollie Barton Garrison, of the home; two sons, Steve Garrison (Melinda) of Easley and Stacy Garrison (Cece) of Simi Valley, California; one daughter, Tammy G. Eavenson of Easley; a brother, Dewey Garrison of Easley; four grandchildren, Rebekah Eavenson, Brooke Eavenson, Mark Garrison and Matthew Garrison. In addition to his parents, Mr. Garrison was predeceased by two brothers, William and Paul Garrison; and a sister, Dorothy Weathers.

Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Monday at Rock Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Veteran's Garden of Honor at Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley.

Escort of Honor will be the Prayer Warriors Sunday School Class of Rock Springs Baptist Church, his Supper Club, as well as the Tal Garrett Sunday School Class of Welcome Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM until 4:00 PM Monday at the church prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of Rock Springs Baptist Church, 201 Rock Springs Road; Easley, SC 29642.
