Easley

Roy C. McCall, Jr., 90, of South Pendleton Street, passed away Friday, August 16, 2013 at McCall Hospice House.

Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Roy C. McCall, Sr., and the late Belle Roper McCall, Mr. McCall was a graduate of Easley High School, Class of 1939 and a graduate of Furman University and also attended Harvard Business School. He was a land developer, among other things, and a veteran of World War II having served in the US Navy in the Pacific. Mr. McCall was a member of First Baptist Church, Easley, where he was a former deacon and was a Trustee of Anderson University where he was formerly interim President. He was a former member of the Easley Rotary Club and the Destroyer Escort Sailors Association.

Surviving are his wife of sixty-nine years, Gwen Smith McCall; three sons, Roy C. McCall, III, and wife, Carolyn, of Easley, Marty McCall and wife, Vickie, of Herndon, VA, and David McCall and wife, Barbara, of Nashville, TN; a sister, Joann M. Cobb of Easley; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. McCall was predeceased by a brother, Gilbert McCall.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 24, 2013 at First Baptist Church, Easley with Rev. Dr. John Adams officiating, along with Roy McCall, III, Marty McCall and David McCall. Burial will be at a later date in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Saturday in the narthex of the church immediately following the service.

The family is at the home of Roy, III and Carolyn McCall, 122 Cherokee Road, Easley, SC 29642.
