Roy B. Pitts

Roy Batson Pitts, 82, of 307 Blue Ridge Street, died Saturday, December 26, 2009, at Hospice of the Upstate.
Born in Pickens County, a son of the late George Earl "Bub" Pitts, Sr., and the late Sara "Sallie" Batson Pitts, Mr. Pitts retired from the Glenwood Plant of Mayfair Mills and was a member and former Deacon of Victory Baptist Church where he belonged to the Men's Sunday School Class. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the US Navy.
Surviving are his wife of sixty-three years, Ruth Jones Pitts of the home; a son, Jimmy Pitts of the home; a daughter, Kathy Womack and husband, Butch, of Easley, a brother, George Pitts, Jr., of Easley, two sisters, Betty Sanders and husband, Tommy of Easley, and Eva Mae Leonard and husband, Keith, of Gatlinburg, TN; a grandson, Pierce Womack of Easley and a granddaughter, Kayla Womack of Easley.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Monday at Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Phillips and Rev. Tommy Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery.
The body is at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown and will be placed in the church at 1:00 p.m. Monday where the family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service.
