Roy Eugene Shockley, 71, of 105 Goodrich Street, died Friday, October 09, 2009 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late James C. and Myrlon Smith Shockley, Jr. Mr. Shockley was a retired salesman, a veteran of the U.S. Army and was of the Pentecostal faith.

Mr. Shockley is survived by two daughters, Angie Rogers (Jerry) and Debbie Vandette (and a special friend, Jason Ellis) all of Greenville; a brother, Chuck Shockley (Lucille) of Easley, three grandchildren, Vincent, Amber and Zach Vandette, all of Greenville and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Shockley is predeceased by his wife, Margaret Downey Shockley; a brother, James D. Shockley and a sister, Judy C. Eddleman.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC, officiated by Rev. Bob Gibson. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery - West.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, prior to the service.

The family is at the home of Chuck Shockley, 106 Quail Trail, Easley.
