Roy Paul Terry, Jr. 69, husband of Helen Gurley Terry, died Thursday, January 25, 2007 at his residence. A native of Anderson County he was the son of the late Roy P. and Eloise Duncan Terry.
He worked in textiles; in marketing at LaFrance Industries and then as a textile consultant. He traveled the world in his work and lived in Ecuador, South America for 4 years. He loved his family and enjoyed cooking and fishing.
In addition to his loving wife of 48 years, Helen Gurley Terry, he is survived by sons: Gregory Terry and wife Nellie and Russell Terry both of Clemson; daughter: Gina Terry of Columbia; granddaughters: Leanna and Gwyneth Terry; brothers: Rod and Jack Terry of Anderson and sister Patsy Dobson of Pendleton. He was predeceased by sisters Kathyrn Fant Campbell and Barbara Terry.
A memorial service will be held at 3pm Saturday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central-Clemson Commons. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-3pm prior to the service. There will be a private committal service at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605 or to the charity of choice.
