Rufus Charles Day, 84, of Easley, husband of the Edith Foster Day, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Emeritus Countryside Healthcare.
Born November 20, 1929 in Easley, he was a son of the late Warren Butler and Laura Adelaide Gilstrap Day. Mr. Day was a US Army veteran serving in Korea and was a longtime member of Jones Avenue Baptist Church. He was a retired maintenance foreman at Union Carbide.
In addition to his wife of sixty years, he is survived by his sons, Rick Day (Lisa) and Ken Day (Janet); brother, Joseph Day; sister, Lilly Sheriff; grandchildren, Anna Daniels, Laurie Day and Alan Day; great-grandchildren, Ella Daniels and Alex Daniels.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by five brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Jones Avenue Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Day Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday at Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road.
