Thomas Rupert Gilstrap Sr., 76, of 1126 Old Dacusville Highway, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014 at his home.

Born in Dacusville, Mr. Gilstrap was a son of the late Thomas Burn and Bernice Albertson Gilstrap. He was a graduate of Dacusville High School, and he founded A and A Fire Protection Company in 1976. Mr. Gilstrap was in the fire sprinkler industry for over 50 years. He was a member of Glassy Mountain Church of God.

Surviving are his wife, Reba Armstrong Gilstrap of the home; three sons, Jonathan Gilstrap, Corey Gilstrap and Jake Gilstrap and his wife, Lynn, and a daughter in law, Patricia Holcombe Gilstrap, all of Dacusville; a brother, James Henry Gilstrap of Easley; eleven grandchildren,Yvonne Gilstrap Smith, Jason Ray Gilstrap, Anne Marie Gilstrap Jones, Jeremy L. Hall, Brandy Leann Gilstrap, Jonathan Chace Gilstrap, Brittany Gilstrap, Brandon Gilstrap, Michael Cole, Tyler Holder, and Andrew Gilstrap; and thirteen great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gilstrap was predeceased by a son, Thomas R. Gilstrap, Jr.; a daughter, Rebecca "Candy" Gilstrap Hall; and a brother, Lamar Gilstrap.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Gilstrap Family Cemetery.

The Escort of Honor will be employees of A and A Fire Protection.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family is at the residence.
