Russell "Buck" McAbee, 89, of Piedmont, husband of Evelyn Carroll McAbee, passed away peacefully Tuesday August 14, 2012 at his home.
Mr. McAbee was born in Anderson County, SC, a son of the late Louie and Lola Mae Gambrell McAbee. He retired from P.E. Collins Electrical and was a life-time member and Deacon of Mt. Airy Baptist Church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 67 years, are three sons, Michael (Paulette) McAbee, Barry (Priscilla) McAbee and Randy (Janice) McAbee; a daughter, Darlene (Tim) Norton; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Ruby Burke.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Mt. Airy Baptist Church. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Reflection Mausoleum of Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley.
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM, prior to the service, at the church.
Memorials may be made to The Release Time Program of Christian Learning Center at Mt. Airy Baptist Church, 210 Mt. Airy Church Road, Easley, SC 29642.
