Russell Fred Wedekind, 75, of Greenville, loving husband of Joan L. Wedekind, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville.
Born in Bronxville, New York, he was a son of the late Fred George and Elsa Noehren Wedekind. Russ enjoyed model trains, collecting stamps, and spending time with his family. Russ received a bachelors degree from Defiance College in Business. He was formerly employed by T&S Brass in Travelers Rest and was a member of Tremont Church of God in Greenville.
In addition to his loving wife of 20 years, Russ is survived by his children, Valerie Wiemken (Jeff), of Napoleon, OH, Jenny Wedekind (Tim) of Defiance, OH, Russell M. Wedekind of Taylors, SaDonna K. Buchanan (Jason) of Piedmont, SC, and Travis L. Kay (Candice) of Piedmont, SC; one brother, Ronald G. Wedekind (Karen) of Hendersonville, NC; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Russ was predeceased by his sister, Eileen Joan Coscia.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown Easley, entombment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Robinson Funeral Home -Downtown Easley.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Tremont Church of God Building Fund, 2854 New Easley Highway, Greenville, SC 29611.
The family is at the home.
