Laura Ruth Ward Brock, 93, widow of Frank Brock, Sr., died Wednesday, April 02, 2008 at the Hospice House in Anderson. Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late John and Jeannie Mayfield Ward. She was a retired cosmetologist. She was a long time member of Asbury Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening.
Survivors: daughters, Betty Mashburn, Pendleton, Bobbie Griffin, Columbia; step-son, Calvin Brock, Pendleton; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, John Thomas Harrison; daughter, Sara Swafford and a step-son, Frank Brock, Jr.
Funeral services will be Friday at 3pm in the chapel at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, prior to the service from 2-3pm at the funeral home. The family is at the home of her daughter, Betty Mashburn, 132 Grand Oak Circle, Pendleton, SC 29670.
