Ruth Alexander Greer

Laura Ruth Alexander Threatt Greer, 92, widow of Dallas Franklin Greer, died January 23, 2021 in Easley, SC. She was born in Pickens County, the daughter of the late William Talton Alexander and the late Elizabeth Barker Alexander, on March 18, 1928. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and gardening, but especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Ruth was a member of Geer Memorial Baptist Church.

Ruth is survived by her sons, Alan Hilton Threatt of Seneca and Harry Louis Threatt, Jr. (Cyndi) of Liberty; daughters, Elizabeth Threatt Stokes (Hal) of Easley, Kathryn Threatt Anderson and Elva Threatt DeSoiza (Chris), both of Greenville; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; stepchildren, David Greer and Timothy Greer, both of Louisville, KY, and Tracy Spalding and Jenna Greer, both of Corydon, IN; sister, Caroline Morgan of Six Mile; and brothers, Carli Alexander and Dwight Alexander, both of Pickens.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her beloved stepmother, Mittie Crenshaw Alexander; her first husband, Harry Louis Threatt; son, Robert Edward Threatt; sisters, Lila Steen, Cora Haynes, Gladys Watson, Helen Whitmire, and Brenice Murphree; and her brothers, Bill Alexander and Daniel Alexander.

Graveside services will take place at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Pickens, with Reverend Phil McAlister officiating. The family kindly requests that guests wear masks and practice social distancing.

The family wishes to thank the Hospice of the Upstate nurses Vette and Toby, and special caregivers, Sandra Rice and Iva Stratton.
