Lillie Ruth Hendrix, 88, of LaFrance passed away Tuesday evening, April 21, 2020. Ruth was born September 22, 1931 in Anderson SC, daughter of Styles and Elle-Ree Leopard. Prior to her decline of health, she walked to and from LaFrance Church of God of Prophecy church where she was a member.
Ruth spent her life as a homemaker and childcare provider. She will be missed by many family and friends. The extended community will for sure miss her fried chicken and chocolate cake.
She is survived by three children: a son, "Pete" Donnie Hendrix of LaFrance; two daughters, Nancy Nimmons (Sam) of Pendleton, Vickie Burdette (Jimmy Head) of Central; one sister, Lois Brock of Anderson; six grandchildren, Mandy Harrell of Anderson, Krystal Burdette of Central, Bobby Burdette of Central, Angela Wilson of LaFrance, Mark Hendrix of Anderson, Betty Hendrix of Fayetteville, NC; 13 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents Ruth is predeceased by her husband, Bill Edward Hendrix; a son, Mitchell Clark Hendrix; a grandson, Jerry Nimmons; and three brothers, Joe Leopard, Kenneth Leopard and Roger Leopard.
Rev. Mike Harrell will officiate a graveside service Friday, April 24 at 4:30 PM at Memory Gardens, 586 Issaqueena Trail, Clemson SC. Visitation without family present is open to public Friday 8:15 AM- 3:00 PM. at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, 108 Cross Creek Road, Central.
