Ruth Corbin Medlin, 89, of Dacusville Highway, wife of the late William Hovie Medlin, passed away Friday, November 20, 2015 at her home.Born in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Wilburn and Bessie Galbreth Corbin.
Mrs. Medlin was retired from JP Stevens, Monaghan Plant, after 38 years of dedicated service. She was a member of Cedar Rock Baptist Church for 64 years and The Melissa Sunday School Class. She loved working in her flower garden, crocheting and embroidering.
Surviving are her daughter, Sandy Oliver of the home; two grandchildren, Wendy Kirk (James), Mitzi Oliver(Brian Gardner); great grandchildren, Paris Kirk, Destiny Kirk, Bubbie Kirk and Jessica Haley; a great-great granddaughter, Abbie Haley; and sisters, Pearline Stegall and Rosa Ellenburg both of Easley and Frances Wyatt of Travelers Rest.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a great granddaughter, Autumn Haley; sisters, Essie Pippin and Lillian Wardlaw; and brothers, Clarence, Frank and Charles Corbin.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 PM until 12:45 PM at the funeral home.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 7506 E. Independence Blvd. #120, Charlotte, NC 28227 or www.cff.org
The family will be at their respective homes.
