Ruth Elizabeth Ellison Norton, 94, of Easley, wife of the late Carl E. Norton, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2011 at the McCall Hospice House.
Born in Pickens County on March 1, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Thornwell and Elmina McCall Ellison. Mrs. Norton was a Past Worthy Matron, Easley O.E.S #200, Past Grand Marshall to Grand Electa, Past Grand Representation of California in SC and a Life Member, Easley O.E.S, #200. She was a longtime and faithful member of Park Street Baptist Church.
She is survived by her brother, Clyde E. Ellison of Greenville; nieces, Anita Ellison Collins and Rachelle Ellison Mickel, both of Greenville. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Thornwell Ellison.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
