Ryan M. ParkerCentral, SCRyan Matthew Parker, 24, of 843 Isaqueena Trail, died Monday, April 18, 2016 in Central, SC.
Born in Livonia, Michigan, he was the son of David A. and Susan L. Parker of Redford, Michigan. Ryan graduated from Plymouth Christian Academy in Plymouth, Michigan in 2009. His first semester in college was spent at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. He completed his degree at Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan in 2013. While in Michigan he was employed by Carl’s Golfland and Wixom Police Department. Since relocating to South Carolina, he was an employee of Dick’s Sporting Goods in Anderson, SC. Ryan was an avid golfer. He played on his high school golf team and in 2008 they became the regional champions and also the MHSAA Division 4 Boys’ Golf Finals. They finished 14th out of 15 for the entire state of Michigan.
He accepted Christ as his Savior when he was eight years old and chose to be baptized at nine. Although he was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, he also attended Calvary Baptist Church and Northridge Church.
Surviving in addition to his parents are a half brother, David Parker of Fenton, MI; sister, Sheri Parker of Livonia, MI; niece, Ashley Parker and her son Owen Parker Foster of Livonia, MI. Ryan is also survived by numerous family and friends who loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Friday, April 22, 2016 in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home.
The family will greet friends immediately following the service and friends will be able to view Ryan.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Detroit Public Safety Foundation 1301 Third Street, Suite 547, Detroit, MI 48226.
Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
