Sadie Attaway Jones

Sadie A. Jones, wife of the late George C. Jones, passed away at her home on Sunday, July 11, 2021, after a full and active life of 103 years.

A native of Newberry County, Mrs. Jones was the daughter of the late Marion and Elizabeth Girk Attaway. She was a loving wife, mother, grandparent, sister, aunt and friend. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Clemson.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her son, Les Jones, five sisters, and two brothers.

Surviving are her daughter, Lynne Griffin (Randy) of Six Mile; daughter-in-law, Jane Jones of Seneca; four grandchildren, Amy Sawyer, Justin) of Six Mile, Kelly Crawford (Shawn) of Six Mile; Carlisle Jones of Clemson; and Blake Jones of Seneca; along with three great grandchildren, Sophie Sawyer, Sadie Sawyer and Griffin Crawford.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central, SC. on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dr. Rusty Brock officiating. Scroll to the video player below to view the service.

Visitation will be from 1 to 1:50 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial to follow in Westview Cemetery, Walhalla, SC.

The family wishes to express much gratitude for the years of loving care given to Mrs. Jones by Mrs. Virginia Reid, Mrs. Lottie Cabbagestalk, and Mrs. Betty Jo Taylor.
