Sadie Ruth Brooks Lyle, 72, of 306 Frank Street, wife of the late Charles Washington Lyle,Sr., died Sunday, December 14, 2008, at Hospice of the Upstate.
Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late J.A. and Ruby Pressley Brooks, Mrs. Lyle retired from Belk's in Easley, and was a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church where she belonged to the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.
Surviving are a son, Charles Lyle, Jr., of Greenville; two daughters, Ruth Ann Chapman of Central, and Kathy Lyle Bossert of Easley; two sisters, Geri Thrift of Easley, and Ruby Roach of Iowa Park, TX; and five grandchildren, Dr. Jeremy Parker, Kelly Bossert, Elijah Chapman, Hannah Chapman and Leah Chapman. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Lyle was predeceased by two sisters, Sylvia Lyle and Jeanie Dees.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Dr. Jim Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
